Five Very Common Misconceptions About The SEO Industry
SEO companies have managed to earn quite an attention in the last few years. Well, not all the attention is in a good way. There is also a lot of myth that runs parallel to this industry.
Though this might look an easy task to set up the SEO Company & run it. The insiders will agree to me that it’s not as easy as it looks. There are so many questions that need answers, myths to clear and also get blames for mistakes that other novices or self-proclaimed experts make.
Let’s talk about top 5 common misconceptions that we being the part of the SEO Industry face:
1. SEO is all about software:
Oh, yeah!!! So many out there think SEO is all about buying a software for making links, fixing some techie details on the website and using another software to track the improvements. I am sorry but this is not true. SEO is a blend of science and art. Science because yes, you got to get meta tags, H1, and other stuff in the right order, within allowed character limit but what you write is not any software’s task!!!
2. SEO is cheap:
We all will agree to the fact that cheap is a very objective term. Something that’s cheap to me, might not be cheap to you & vice versa. We definitely not ignoring the dollar conversion rates here but it surely can’t be cheap like $50 a month. Quality has a price. If you want well-experienced professionals to work on your website. Please don’t hesitate to pay them decently.
3. SEO includes Social:
SEO and Social are 2 different things. While SEO is all about search engines and website promotions. Social on the other hand is about connecting with your audience. It’s an amazing platform that allows you to address issues instantly and not to forget, share the good words too. So, next time when you are talking to the SEO Company, please ensure that you specifically ask about what’s included and what’s not.
4. SEO is all about Top page Rankings:
Yes, top page rankings…we know that you want one but look at the broader picture, you just don’t want to land up on top pages for broader terms/irrelevant terms and get tons of traffic with no business. A genuine company will not hesitate to share their honest opinions about the terms to be targeted and what more should be included/excluded on that list. It’s very important to put efforts on the right terms and attain top positions on business driving keywords. It will also mean more traffic and definitely high conversions on the website.
5. SEO is a one-time thing
Every other day, we get asked if SEO is a one-time thing? I am sorry but the answer is NO. Why? SEO is an ongoing thing. It is definitely advised to continue efforts irrespective you are on a top page because ongoing efforts will help the business retain positions and not to forget, focus on new platforms that the digital world has to offer.
So, these are just a few of the common misconceptions that the SEO industry faces. I will be happy to hear your thoughts on the same.
